Chocolate Chip Shortbread

Shortbread is probably the most simple of all cookies. Simple, but oh so delicious! We love eating it warm with a glass of cold milk or a cup of hot coffee.

Chocolate Chip Shortbread

1/2 pound soften butter
1 cup of sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips

Combine all ingredients and use your hands to work to form a smooth soft dough. Press dough into a lightly buttered 9 by 13 inch pan. Bake in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for about 20 minutes. Cut into square or bars while warm.
