A Visit to a New York Winery
My family and I went recently to visit with my son who is at West Point, New York. While we were there we went to a wonderful winery, Benmarl Winery, in Marlboro, New York. The winery is located in the Hudson Valley with a gorgeous view. My husband, daughter and I did several wine tastings as my underage 18 year old could only watch us with intent. For $8 we tasted 6 wines. All the wines tasted good, but we bought our 2 favorites, Slate Hill White and Catawba. They were inexpensive about $15 dollar a bottle. Afterwards we took a tour of the wine cellars and walked through the vineyard. We met several friendly New Yorkers. I really enjoyed it. This trip made me want to hurry home and start making my own wine, which I am about to do with my blackberries. I will post all of the steps soon in how I make my organic blackberry wine. Meantime, here is the website of the winery I visited in New York.
