The Beginning of the Growing Season

Camellia
Carolina Jasmin

I do not know the name of this tree. It is located near the cabin we are building on the island in the middle of the creek.
It is early February and we have had a very mild winter here in my area of Texas. It has rained a bit but, we are still in a severe drought. There are towns around us that have to ration water. Despite this the plants are starting to bloom in our landscape. I took these pictures this morning.
Chinese Fringe
Nandina Berries

In the greenhouse I have many seeds that have sprouted. I have cabbage, arugula, tomato, watermelon, sunflower, squash, zucchini, cantaloupe, dill and broccoli that are now seedlings. The cool weather crops will be transplanted soon into my garden. The rest will have to wait until the last date of frost in my area. The greenhouse seedling pictures were taken this morning in early February.
